Formed by a small circle of psychology faculty and practitioners committed to applying Islamic thought to mental health care in Iran.
Our story
From a working group of faculty and practitioners to a nationwide association — milestones we've marked along the way.
The Iranian Association of Islamic Psychology was founded to bridge a gap many clinicians felt in the early 2000s: psychology training rarely engaged with the faith tradition their patients lived in, and religious counsel rarely drew on rigorous psychological science.
Our founders believed both could be held together without dilution — and that practitioners, researchers, and the wider community would all benefit.
